I just thought of sharing some nice memoroies from my trip to India in August this year.
Being born and brought up in Bangalore, it's always a nice feeling to go back home during the festive season. Although I have been living in the Netherlands over 10 years, I still get excited like a child when I plan my trip to india and more importantly when my tickets are booked!
This August was special to me as my mother was completing 60 years. I wanted to make it special for her. My sister and I thought of giving her a nice surprise by visitng her. My sister flew in from the US and I flew in from Amsterdam. I booked a nice resort in Kerala (A southern state known for its beautiful locales and ayurveda) for a week. The train trip to Calicut from Bangalore was amazing. The resort, a five star one, was just perfect. Nice sunny feel located on a small hill surrounded by backwaters and lush green coconut plantation, a large outdoor swimming pool, an ayurvedic center and fantastic bar & restaurant serving yummy malabar food were just something I was craving for.
This scene is something that intrigued me. I leave it to the viewer to guess what the Autorikshaw man was upto :)
We hired a private taxi and visited Wayanad, a beautiful hilly area with spice plantation (cocoa, Cardamom, Banana, Rubber, etc.,) and beautiful natural water falls. We later visited shores of the Arabic sea and the city center.
We sailed on the back waters in a house boat and relaxed the evenings with a refresing aurvedic massage. The spirits were high and the bonding was stronger as we left Kerala back to Bangalore. I was happy to see a serene smile on my mother's lips.
